Create your own Proxy server & Bypass the Blocked Websites

by Shashank Chinchli on August 25, 2010

Access blocked sites by creating own proxy server.

Is your URL blocked?

Are you trying to access Facebook.com or Orkut.com from your college &
are being blocked by the CyberRoam  :?

Then try creating your own proxy server  and access these restricted sites freely.

How to create your own Proxy Server  ?

If you own a small webspace then its possible to have own proxy serverr in three steps :

1. Go to the link : http://www.glype.com
Download the setup from there.  [ 133KB max size ]

2. Install Glype Proxy.

  • Upload the zip file to your webserver supporting PHP 5
  • Get the uploads file to the main directory say  ’Google’
  • If my domain is  gurushala.net then all contents of UPLOAD
folder in glype.zip should be in  gurushala.net/google

Now go to gurushala.net/google  & then you could see the following screen :

Glype proxy create your own web server

3. Administration :

Most useful to novice users will be the caching tools (pictured above), logs, and blacklists.
The caching tools can help you improve the browsing speed by storing some files from all,
or some of the already visited websites. Logs are off by default, but might have legal
importance in the future, depending on who uses your proxy server. Always explicitly
mention you’re keeping these logs. Finally, the blacklists will allow you to block (all but) a few sites, or users.

To access your admin panel, point your browser to admin.php on your webserver
(e.g.
domain.com/surf/admin.php).

Disclaimer :

I’m not encouraging you to use this to bypass sites that you are banned from surfing in colleges, work place, etc. Use them with cautions make sure you know what you are doing. I shall not be responsible for any damages or rules and regulation you violate from using these proxies.

So when are you creating your proxy server? Keep the responses coming.
