Nowadays, the usage of google chrome is increasing day by day due to its portability, easy user interface and many much things that some users might have not known but are very much useful and are only provided in google chrome.

1. Task Manager for Websites

While you are inside Google Chrome, press Shift+Escape and it will open up a ‘task manager’ with a list of all websites currently open inside Chrome.

This will give you an idea about how much physical memory is consumed by different websites and if any particular page is causing your system to crawl, you can do an “end process” to close that tab directly from Task Manager.

2. See Memory Used by Differnet Browsers

This is one of the feature of google chrome which i love.

Open a new tab inside Chrome browser and type “about:memory” (without quotes) – somewhere at the top, you’ll see a list of browser processes that are currently running on your system and the amount of memory they are using.

3. Reopen Website Tabs That you have Closed By Mistake

The best and most useful feature that google chrome provides to the user.

To re-open a closed tab in Google Chrome, just hit Ctrl+T and you’ll see an option that says “Recently closed tabs” – click the one you closed by accident.

Firefox 3 has this “Undo Closed Tab” option in the menu while you can open closed tabs in Opera via the Ctrl+Z shortcut.

4.Launch Websites From Start Menu/Quick Launch

Desktop shortcuts are possible form other browsers as well but Google Chrome makes it very easier.Open any site and choose “Create application shortcut” from the File menu.

This will essentially create a desktop shortcut that looks something like this:

C:\Users\Gurushala\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
    --app=http://www.gurushala.net/

Clicking the shortcut will launch that web page in a new instance of Chrome that may not contain have any more new tabs.

5. Themes

Chrome now provides support for new themes n some background wallpapers to be set as default setting with the browser and has lots and lots of themes.

Chrome also allows the user to create and use and also upload the theme created by the user itself.

6.Extensions

last but not the least, Google Chrome has started providing the user with the interface and free user friendly environment that a user can simply use any of the extension or plugin that all browsers uses as per their compatibility. But in chrome, there are almost each and every extension supported and moreover if you are a developer you can even make your own extension according to your need and install it and use it.
