If you’ve visited  Google homepage today, there’s no doubt that you noticed BuckyBall doodle honoring the buckyball’s 25th anniversary.

What is  Buckyball :?

BuckyBall : a C60 Molecule.

Fullerenes that are spherical in shape are called BuckyBalls. They are named after architect Buckminster Fuller and his geodesic dome designs (think the giant golf ball at Epcot in Orlando, FL).

Buckyballs and quantum dots are two nanotools useful in medicine.  as this molecule is  just 1 nanometer wide.  Doctors could use buckyballs and quantum dots in gene therapy to send genes into human cells (that’s might be in nanotechnology).

So Google’s Doodle today is dedicated for BuckyBall’s 25th anniversary. Thanks google! Cool animation, too.
