The HTC Flyer Cost $80 For a Stylus Magic Pen
HTC is offering a stylus pen to complement its new HTC Flyer Android tablet. The pen is part of HTC’s Scribe technology that HTC terms with a catchphrase in their presentation video for the Flyer: “If you can see it, you can write on it.” The pen allows for users to quickly create invitations for events, annotate documents and notes with virtual pens and highlighters, digitally sign documents, and of course doodling on your own personal photos as children would.
According to pre-order pages at Best Buy’s website, the HTC-made digital stylus will not be included with the company’s tablet offering, the 7-inch HTC Flyer. Instead, the pen will be sold separately with a hefty $80 price tag. There’s also an option to buy the pen with a leather carrying case for $110, or the case alone for $35.
The company promoted the pen heavily in a video it released earlier this year (seen below), and even refers to the stylus as a “magic pen” in the first sentence on the HTC Flyer’s website.
With the Flyer’s initial price tag of $500, however, you may not be willing to shell out an extra $80 for a separate stylus, or another $30 for the pouch to carry it. Since most other tablets’ prices also start at about $500, the pen’s surcharge makes it an option rather than a necessity. That mayn’t be enough to sell more Flyers.
HTC Flyer carries most of the standard specs one comes to expect from an Android tablet: a beefy 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, stereo speakers, and of course Flash support.

$80 just for the stylus OMG!!!
yo dude;)) Just for the powerful magic wand;))
It got great features but cost is too much.
Great invention by HTC. I think it’s going to rock technology world.
Well that’s outrageous. I hope third-parties will produce a stylus that’s much cheaper.
It is a nice stuff for geeks but I always love to wait for few months and keep tracking price updates. Gadgets always rated high in starting but after few months price move down.
Same here Atul.
I would be waiting for few months and later would buy when price return to normalcy!
My friend had bought N 73 at 23k initially and my sister got it 6M later in 15k years back !!!
Since then i follow the same way ! Wait n watch
$80 is too much and that too just for a stylus. Sure this phone will not be popular here in India.
