“The Wilderness Downtown”, the project was created by writer/director Chris Milk with the band Arcade Fire and Google.
What their blog says is ” Building this project on the web and for the browser allowed us to craft an experience that is not only personalized, but also deeply personal for each viewer. “
“The Wilderness Downtown” takes you down memory lane through the streets you grew up in.
Since I use Chrome as my main browser, I didn’t have a problem accessing the site at all. It creates what many Web sites strive to achieve — a rich Internet application. It has some interactive elements as well as cinematic moments.
If you visit the site in Chrome, you’ll be prompted to enter the address of where you grew up.
If you aren’t using Chrome, the site will recommend you try that browser but will let you give it a shot if you refuse to switch. Once you plug in your old address, the site will begin to create your movie. It will also suggest you shut down any unnecessary applications or browser windows.
Please note :This film is processor intensive.
Please shut down other programs and close unnecessary browser tabs. Doing this will enhance your viewing experience. You can launch the project and learn more about it on our Chrome Experiments site at www.chromeexperiments.com/arcadefire.
I hope that you will enjoy it.
