About Winsor Zenic McCay
Winsor Zenic McCay born on September 26, 1869 was an American cartoonist and animator. He was best known for the comic strip Little Nemo and the animated cartoon Gertie the Dinosaur (1914). For legal reasons, he worked under the pen name Silas on the comic strip Dream of the Rarebit Fiend. Little Nemo, based on the adventures of a boy of around six-years-old, ran in the New York Herald from 1905 to 1911.

Little Nemo in Slumberland was his first comic strip series that revolves around about the little character Nemo and his dreams.The strip, ran only on Sundays ,features Nemo’s adventures as he tries to reach the princess of Slumberland,daughter of King Morpheus,who desires Nemo for a playmate.
This weekly comic strips had appeared on the October 15, 1905 – July 23, 1911 and September 3, 1911 – July 26, 1914, respectively.
